Connect to network drives and printers
If you do not see your network drives, or any of the office printers, you may need to reapply Southland group policy. Normally this is done automatically every time you reboot while connected to the Southland Staff network, but occasionally you may need to trigger an update manually.
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Make sure you are connected to the Southland network–either connected physically, or to “Southland Staff” WiFi. Either way, if you hover over your network icon, it should say mysouthland.local.
- Step 2: Open the start menu, then search for and open Windows PowerShell
- Step 3: Run the command:
gpupdate /force - Step 4: It may take a few minutes to run. Once it's completed, it will confirm by saying:
Computer Policy update has completed successfully. User Policy update has completed successfully.
